The tuna traps are located a few kilometers from the town, near the sea. They are one of the most significant examples linked to paleoindustrial production activities: the various environments intended for the work of fishermen hosted the different phases of work until their decommissioning in the second half of the twentieth century. In fact, between 1971 and 1979, the tuna trap complex underwent a renovation for tourist-recreational purposes with the design intervention of Giovanni Rebecchini.
The intervention has maintained the original structure of the various buildings, arranged one next to the other and, in general, low and with little emerging volume. A few new buildings have been inserted, however, built with limited heights and compact bodies that have the task of harmonizing with pre-existing buildings. The whole is therefore centered around the very tall towers, the only vertical emergency in the area, and the services obtained in the community environments of the ancient tuna trap, covered with sloping roofs. This type of coverage has suggested their recovery even in new buildings. The seaside square is particularly suggestive, where the long walkway stands out with a flat roof covered by stone pillars. Even the choice of materials - stone and plaster - has in fact helped to preserve the memory of the place.
