Nuragus, Nuraghe Santu Millanu

The nuraghe stands out above a slight rise, about 280 m NE of the sacred well of Coni, in the historic region of Part'e Alenza, on the border between Marmilla and Sarcidano.
The building consists of a central tower and a four-lobed bastion that can barely be identified on the ground. The keep, made of large limestone blocks, rough and arranged in regular rows, stands out — on the ground of collapse — for about 6 m. The entrance, somewhat underground, has inside - just above the lintel - a small cell that leads to the corridor and that opens onto the front of the nuraghe. The central chamber, almost circular, marginalized by three niches arranged in a cross shape, has on the walls - at a height just above that of the entrance lintel - six holes (0.40 m on each side) used to fix the support beams of a wooden loft. On the entrance wall, in correspondence with niche d., there is the entrance of the bedroom staircase that leads to a small subsidiary room and which, probably, originally continued to the bedroom on the upper floor. The circular subsidiary compartment communicates with the bedroom through a small window. At present, an exact reading of the planimetric layout of the bastion is impossible.
Around it there are traces of a Nuragic village with an overlap from the Roman era.

The nuraghe has been known since the beginning of the last century.

How to get there
From the center of Nuragus, following the signs, you proceed along a track that leads to the nuragic well of Coni, from which you reach the Nuraghe Santu Millanu, in plain view.
