Guspini, Monte Tempo Museum

Guspini, Monte Tempo Museum

The Museum, dedicated to the history of Guspini and its territory, is set up in a structure built as a church in the seventeenth century and transformed into Montegranatico in the nineteenth century.
Of the local history, traced in parallel with the history of the world since ancient times, the most significant aspects and episodes are highlighted: the system of Nuragic settlements, the events of Neapolis, a Phoenician commercial station and then a Punic, Roman, early medieval city; later, Neapolis fell, the traces of the Templars and the Pisans and the exceptional testimony of aspects of daily life and material culture consisting of the will of Gottifredo, from medieval times; then running to today, the industrial revolution, with the exploitation of mines and the profound transformations of the territory and landscape, the class struggles of the twentieth century, the confluence of customs and customs into global culture.
The story is developed by themes (living, working, leisure) and the lens through which the historical evolution of the territory is observed is time in many of its meanings. Geological time, historical time, social time, private time, human time, work time, time of struggles: to understand how the various aspects of social life and material culture evolve or remain similar over the years or centuries.
Short texts, hats and introductions to the topics, alternate with historical and in-depth sheets; photographs, reproductions of posters, archival documents and educational illustrations are added to the objects; films projected on the wall or on monitors for individual use, reproduce recordings of interviews, voice-overs, sounds.
The tour is free, the visitor interacts with the exhibition and can walk through different and intersected circles or rings, each section exhausting a theme.
