The photographic exhibition À PIED by Elisabeth Euvrard opens to the public on 9 May 2024, curated by Cinzia Cogoni and Caterina Ghisu and produced by Agorà Sardegna and CoopCulture in collaboration with the City of Cagliari and Europe Direct.
The inauguration of the exhibition voluntarily coincides with the anniversary of Europe Day and is intended to be an opportunity to promote its values and future goals, including the most transversal and unifying: social inclusion and the different possible forms of coexistence. In the photographic journey of À PIED, Elisabeth Euvrard's gaze trains her sensitivity to the observation of the variety of the other and provides an opportunity to listen to a varied and constantly changing European community.
“The anthropologist Elisabeth Euvrard lives and works in Paris, her hometown, after spending twenty-five years in Italy. In his photographic research, strongly influenced by his anthropological studies, he captures fragments of urban stories. This exhibition portrays unaware and unknown people whose unconscious feet have been stopped in a click. Nobody knows their identity, nobody knows their personal events even if every image suggests a word and immediately the context of a life. And then here comes a happy encounter between the image and the deeper meaning of that word, an epiphany of the understanding it reveals, and what is revealed suddenly appears. Gestures, colors and movements merge here in a single moment of understanding.“
