Tuili, Villa Asquer

Tuili, Villa Asquer

Tuili, Villa Asquer

Tuili preserves an intact and significant historic center, restored in an exemplary way in recent decades.
The villa, currently home to the “Museum of Olive Trees and Oil and Musical Instruments”, dates back to the first half of the nineteenth century, has neoclassical forms, and is attributed to the architect Gaetano Cima, who, in 1852, built the Palazzo Asquer in Cagliari.
The single-storey building is spread out in length with a façade punctuated by large pilasters. The central part is emphasized by a parapet placed above the ledge. At the center of the façade there is a large frame, perfectly circular, which houses a sundial, placed above the door, between two wrought iron balconies.
There is a remarkable formal balance in the relationships and distances between the various architectural elements, which highlights the hand of an experienced architect with precise stylistic convictions.

History of studies
The villa is included in Sergio Serra's publications on noble residences in Sardinia.
