Tempio Pausania, Organica - Museum of Environmental Art in Limbara Park

Near Tempio Pausania, the “stone city” immersed in the heart of Gallura, there is an impressive massif that marks the border with the Logudoro. With its altitude of 1362 m, Mount Limbara offers breathtaking views where mountain landscapes merge, in the distance, with coastal ones. Immersed in this beautiful setting, the “Museum of Environmental Art in the Limbara Park - Organica” offers the visitor a double itinerary dedicated to the relationship between art and the natural world. Along the paths, among the trees or in the small glades, it is possible to visit the Museum's permanent works throughout the year. The installations, created by various contemporary Sardinian and national artists, dot the park-museum along a path that winds through oak trees, cork trees and Mediterranean scrub: an immersive experience in nature and art, which leads the visitor to actively explore the biodiversity of the forest, enriching it with aesthetic and, sometimes, synesthetic experiences, of strong suggestion. Parallel to the outdoor itinerary, the CEDAP exhibition space offers from spring to the end of the year, exhibitions of visual art and photography by artists who focus their research on the complex relationship between man and nature. Workshops, open-air performances, happenings and cultural trekking events are organized periodically dedicated to discovering places, local excellence and reflecting on issues of environmental sustainability. Every year, in October, the Organica museum promotes Foliage - a forest music festival that makes it possible to make known in an unconventional way, through contemporary music, the precious environmental and cultural heritage of the territory. The Museum is curated by the tramedarte association, with the artistic direction of the art critic Giannella Demuro.

the Museum of Environmental Art in the Limbara Organica Park is a reference point for contemporary visual art thanks to a unique offer on the Island. The Museum is also home to the CEAS Temple which, throughout the year, offers itineraries, workshops and activities dedicated to the culture of environmental sustainability.
All the activities of the ecomuseum are developed around the Curadureddu Forest, easily accessible through the 392 Tempio-Oschiri state road. Thanks to the many trails traced by FORESTAS and to the cycling routes, the mountain represents a real paradise for ecotourism. There is also the Mouflon and Wildlife Repopulation Center and the related equipped Wildlife Center, open to guided tours by appointment (tel. +39 079 631921).
The naturalistically most important and spectacular part of the Curadureddu Forest is represented by the Pisciaroni River, which forms suggestive natural pools among polished and rounded granite boulders.
The Curadureddu Forest is located just 7 km from the charming village of Tempio Pausania. With its spring waters, uncontaminated nature and its characteristic historic center, today Tempio is one of the most interesting towns to visit in Sardinia. An orange flag since 2019, Tempio has preserved the historical, cultural and religious heritage of Gallura such as the old railway station of the 1930s, with the paintings by Giuseppe Biasi and the arrival point of the green train that crosses it and the beautiful historic center with its ancient civil buildings, its churches and its oratories that overlook the lively granite squares, where, during the course of the year, highly attractive initiatives and events take place.
