Sassari, Villino Farris

The cottage is inserted in a garden on several levels connected by a staircase with decorative vases. A small porch marks the entrance to the building.
The cottage was built to a design by the engineer Raffaello Oggiano between 1913 and 1914. According to the traditional typology, it has an asymmetric floor plan.
It is characterized by the turret that stands on the two floors of the building and ends with a rich decoration with large scrolls that hold the balusters of the terrace above. The rest of the roof, on the other hand, has an unusual “mountain-style” pitched roof.
The windows are surrounded by frames that use secessionist-inspired decorative motifs with the insertion of green ceramic elements. Of particular interest are the balcony railings, which reflect the Art Nouveau style through sinuous and elegant decorations.
