Santu Lusorgu, Museum of Peasant Technology

The Museum of Peasant Technology was founded in 1976 by the UNLA Cultural Center as part of an organic intervention in the Cultural and Environmental Heritage sector of Santu Luszu.
Maestro Francesco Salis, who was its creator, has been the narrator of the museum since its inception, taking care of its exhibition and promotion with studies and research in the demoethnoanthropological sector.
Located in a characteristic 18th century manor house, the museum collects more than 2,000 work tools and objects from the past of daily use, concerning the territory and traditional Lussurgese culture. The museum is divided into several exhibition rooms: room A - educational panels, bell tower clock and corn grainer; room B - tools for working the land, storing cereals, containers and pastoral furniture, charcoal tools; room C - tools for spinning, weaving and sewing; room D - kitchen tools; room E - tools for artisans; room G - large agricultural machinery; room H - water mills, grinders, stills; room I with tools for vines culture; room L - dairy and crusher tools and, finally, room M - archaeological finds.

Why is it important to visit it
The UNLA Center for Popular Culture in Santu Lusurgu, which manages the museum, is a basic voluntary institution for continuing education and a peripheral organ of the National Union for the Fight against Illiteracy. It was founded fifty years ago (1951) by a group of Lussurgese teachers and students determined to engage among the country's adults as volunteer animators for the socio-cultural development of the Community.
