Omu Axiu (Casa Vargiu, in the local dialect) is a manor house of more than 1200 square meters, which has belonged to the Vargiu family since 1500, used as an ethnographic and embroidery museum. In the various environments that make up the building (exterior, entrance, interior room, tool room, bread storage room, sausage storage room and bedroom) it is possible to reconstruct the gestures of traditional everyday life and ancient crafts, as well as to smell the scents and savor the typical dishes of the peasant society of the Sarcidano region. The upper floor of the house is used as an embroidery museum: clothes, accessories and objects belonging to the family are collected in the bedrooms.
