The Park on the Hill of Sant'Onofrio constitutes the main urban historical-naturalistic space of Nuoro, configuring itself as a green lung in direct relationship with the urban fabric. Although located in an elevated position compared to the town, the park is located close to the historic center. The park was designed and built in the first half of the twentieth century during the period of the fascist twenty years. The area consists of a single large wooded green space, modeled on the morphology of the hill and characterized by continuous tree vegetation. Access is through a fenced metal entrance, from which the main cobbled avenue develops, which crosses the entire area until it reaches the circular paved space and then the summit belvedere, where the monument dedicated to Sebastiano Satta is located. Along the route and in the adjacent areas there is an artificial waterfall, a granite fountain and the refreshment room. The mixed flooring, articulated in an ornamental design, accompanies the visitor along a perspective axis marked by mixed rows of conifers that define a shaded and continuous green corridor. The park is completed by two play areas for children and furniture for parking distributed between the wooded areas and the edge of the avenue, contributing to the overall usability of the space.

Interesting aspects
The park on Colle di Sant'Onofrio is home to a mixed forest with a predominance of conifers, a dominant element of the identity of the place. The thick hair creates a fresh and shady environment. Along the main avenue there is a mixed row consisting of scattered conifers and deciduous trees, arranged without modular regularity but according to a continuous trend that accompanies the route. The alignment constitutes a continuous vegetable grid that defines the edge of the avenue and characterizes its perception.
