Dolianova, Elementary Schools

The building is located in the center of the town in front of a large square, which highlights it in particular, and is now the seat of the municipal administration.
Built on a design by the engineer Egidio Bernardino (1914-16), the building is spread over a vast front punctuated by gigantic pilasters, each of which ends with a decorative “leaf”, embracing the two floors. The openings are grouped alternately in groups of two or three and are adorned with modernist decorations. In the center of the frame, an inscription recalls the ancient destination of elementary school.
A gate supported by sober decorated pillars closes the front façade of the building, which is part of the construction practice for primary education, typical of the first decades of the twentieth century and widespread in large and small towns.
