The territory of Tissi, crossed by numerous watercourses, including the Riu Mannu, is rich in archaeological documentation starting from prehistoric times. The cult for Saint Victoria and Saint Anastasia dates back to Byzantine times, to which the parish church is named, to which the oratory of the confraternity of Santa Croce is attached.
From the S side of the parish church of Sant'Anastasia there is access to the sacristy, which communicates with the oratory. Dating from the Romanesque period, like the church (mid-12th century), it was built with the use of ashlars made of the same limestone, of medium size. Today, the S and S/E sides are visible, concluded by arches on peducci with phytomorphic motifs.
History of studies
Historiography is based on the entry 'Tissi' edited by Vittorio Angius for the Casalis' Dictionary '(1850). In the following century, Ginevra Zanetti's contributions on the Vallombrosani in Sardinia (1968) and the files by Renata Serra (1989) and Roberto Coroneo (1993) in their respective volumes on Romanesque architecture in Sardinia stand out.
