The museum houses precious archaeological evidence from the territory, all hitherto unpublished, distributed along a path structured by periods, from prehistory to the modern age. These are lithic and ceramic finds that highlight, each due to its peculiarities, the cultural period of reference.
In particular, in a room dedicated to it, there is a wonderful example of a Mediterranean Mother Goddess, modeled on a trachyte megalith, which introduces the phenomenon of prehistoric statuary in this geographical area, actually already known in archaeological literature, thanks to the findings of numerous monoliths at the site of Arasèda on Pranu Olìsa.
The lodges, outside, instead house an ethnographic section.
Why it is important to visit it
A peculiarity of the museum is the monumental complex that houses it, better known as “Casa Saba”, consisting of a group of houses and loggias open to a large elliptical courtyard, which is also overlooked by some private houses, which are an integral part of the new concept of urban musealization, which is inspired by CIMA.
