The museum houses, in a permanent exhibition space, a collection of works by the Aritzese painter and engraver Antonio Mura. The building that houses the museum, specially restored and restored, dates back to the end of the nineteenth century and originally housed the town hall. The new space exhibits works by Antonio Mura from the town of Aritzo, from the parish of San Michele Arcangelo and some from private collections, which the owners have generously made available to the museum.
The Mura Museum is part of the articulated museum system of Aritzo called: 'Ecomuseum of the Sardinian Mountain or Gennargentu', together with 'Casa Devilla', the 'Ethnographic Museum', the 'Spanish Prison - Sa Bovida' and various historical and naturalistic itineraries, such as that of the ancient Nevieres of 'Funtana Cugna'.
