The museum, set up in the building of the former Monteponi elementary school, “Andaus a sa scola de miniera”, wants to represent the numerous schools located in the mining hamlets. Here we practice today the laboratory teaching of simulated excavation, clay processing, archival research, historical reconstruction with material and oral sources, scientific experience through contact with minerals, rocks, and environmental problems. The school seems to be the most suitable place to show the many visitors a world that is far away in time, but still alive in our childhood memory.
