MacLula, Lula's Museum of Contemporary Art, was created by the will of the collectors Domenico Fumagalli and his wife Mariolina Mannia, linked to this community.
The two collectors bought a house in the village that has been appropriately restored on the outside as in all the interior spaces.
The works of the Fumagalli-Mannia collection have been placed in this structure.
These are works purchased with taste and feeling without speculative intentions, with convincing results. They are paintings, sculptures, graphics, photographs of various styles: they range from informal to geometric abstraction, from conceptual to visual poetry, from figuration that is never realistic to Street Art, from comics to multimedia arts, thus offering a panorama that is certainly not exhaustive, but certainly significant, of the art of the late twentieth century.
Alongside famous artists, there are others who are less well-known, but always of a considerable level and capable of representing contemporary artistic trends and movements; the generations are also varied, the oldest, in fact, is from 1895 and the youngest in 1990, there are a total of 163 artists, most of them Italian with some foreign presence, some with a single work, others with a larger number.

The Museum proves that not only in large metropolises it is possible to “create culture”, but also, and often better as history teaches us, in decentralized territories and in small urban centers.
