The Museum of Image and Interactive Design, was created to be unique in the regional scene, a treasure chest where the Image - in its facets - is the master. Starting from a permanent collection of comics, the M.I.D.I. deals with promoting contemporary art, with a keen eye on the role played by comics in the artistic world. But the real and tangible innovation of the museum is to allow visitors an excursion into the comics scene, through the use of period comics, through the study of drawings and screenplays, comparing them based on the publishing houses and artists that have succeeded each other over time.
Visitors also have the opportunity to browse and read the museum material, to deepen their reading of comics, from the best known to the new publications, and also, thanks to the presence of an equipped room, to project DVDs of their choice and/or to attend screenings.
Alongside the permanent one, temporary exhibitions and events have been created that emphasize the role of the Image in the various fields of art, culture, history, society and identity.
Why it is important to visit it
Through a study of the most important publications, the visitor has the opportunity to be accompanied by an in-depth knowledge of the various artistic styles: from Panini to Marvel, from Bonelli to Manga, from Manara (the designer of the character Adrian) to the cartoonists of historical novels and other self-produced cars that have managed to carve out a role in the non-island landscape.
