Villacidro, Villa Leni Civic Archaeological Museum

The museum, housed in the former Monte Granatico dating back to the mid-19th century, exhibits finds from the territory of Villacidro and the surrounding municipalities.
The exhibition is accompanied by a rich series of educational panels, the map of the territory, the chronological table and two other impressive panels that introduce, with strong scenographic suggestion, to the archaeological landscape of the territory of Villacidro from the Neolithic to the 7th century AD.
Ample space is dedicated to finds from the territory of the country, including Cottega's stone tools, a bronze model of quadrilobed nuraghe, the grave goods from the Roman-imperial age from the necropolis to the incineration of Ruinas, in which A carefully crafted glass cup stands out.
The archaeological findings in neighboring municipalities, such as Serramanna, San Gavino, Vallermosa, Mogoro, San Nicolò Arcidano, are illustrated ranging from the decorated ceramics of the culture of Ozieri to bronze jewelry from the late ancient and Byzantine ages.
Of particular interest is the bronze closet of ingots of the type [span lang="en "] ox-hide [/span] and votive blades from S'Acqua Cotta and the nuragic pot with miniaturistic leaflet of votive meaning from the nuraghe of [span lang="sro"] Su Sonatori [/span] both in Villasor.
Finally, a lithic model of a single-tower nuraghe found in Matzanni comes from Vallermosa.
