The Guiso Satta house, dating back to the second half of the 15th century, was the residence of one of the Barony's most influential noble families: the Guiso, who maintained possession of the fief until the 18th century. The historical-artistic value of the building and the relevant garden is closely connected to the history, uses and functions assumed over time. The garden is located in the center of Orosei, in the noble district called Palatzos Vetzos/Palatthos Vezzos. It is configured as an internal courtyard-garden. It is part of the architectural complex of Casa Guiso Satta, which reflects the typical shape of the Barony's manor houses: buildings closed to the outside by high surrounding walls, made of stone or brick, few external openings and courtyards around which porches and functional rooms of the house gravitate. The three entrances lead directly to the green space that has a regular floor plan. It is developed on three different levels. The part next to 'Su cunventu', lower down while maintaining the function of an internal courtyard, is connected to the other by a stone staircase. The larger part next to the main house is located on a slight difference in height overcome by four local stone steps flanked by two agave trees in a very scenic position. The garden harmoniously combines functional and ornamental elements, reflecting the dual need of everyday life and representation, a mix of flowers and fruits that harmoniously combines tree species used for food for the family (citrus, aromatic, quinces) with more decorative and atmospheric floral ones (hydrangeas, roses, plumage, wisteria, jasmine, oleander). Alongside these functional species, the garden is embellished with species that emphasize the elegance and symbolic value of space as a representative garden.
