Villagrande Strisaili, Tomb of the Giants of Troculu

The tomb, located in an area on the border between Ogliastra and Barbagia di Belvì, is not in its original position: it was in fact dismantled and reassembled not far away during work on the construction of the Nuoro-Lanusei high-speed road.
The burial, located near two nuraghi and a village, still preserves the grave body. It encloses a burial room made of granite blocks of various sizes, obliquely shaped in the visible face and arranged in irregular rows with the use of rising wedges.
The back wall is closed by a single headboard (height m 1; max. thickness m 0.50) on which a smaller block rests (height m 0.60).
The entrance to the funeral corridor, oriented towards S/O, consists of a granite slab - with a hatch equipped with a saw - originally belonging to a curved bilitic stele.
The door leads into a short lintel (length m 1.35; width m 0.60) that flows into the rectangular burial chamber (length 9.50 m; width 1.35 m; height 1.60 m).
The exedra (rope 14.5 m; arrow m 8) consists of a stepped wall structure - of which only two rows are preserved today - according to a type of construction already known in the area; at the base of the hemicycle, a count-seat develops, lacunated at various points, formed by small granite blocks.

History of excavations
The monument was the subject of archaeological investigation in 1991.
