Along the provincial road that leads from the town of Neoneli to Austis, in the town called “S'Isteddu”, we find signs that indicate how to easily reach the Wildlife Museum. Precisely on this site, admiring the exceptional beauty of the landscape, it is easy to understand that you are inside a very valuable naturalistic oasis, in which, among other things, hunting is prohibited, and it is therefore more likely than elsewhere to meet and admire specimens of Sardinian wildlife.
Since its establishment, the oasis has been the object of attention by an increasing number of visitors, especially school-age children; this element, more than others, has undoubtedly favored and made possible the creation of a small center created with the purpose of hosting, inside, specimens of native wildlife.
It is possible to admire the Sardinian deer, fallow deer, wild boar, wild cat, marten and weasel, but also birds such as the imperial crow, the owl, the barn owl, the Sardinian partridge and a majestic specimen of golden eagle. All this is collected in a small, very essential and spartan room, inside the naturalistic oasis, which allows visitors to observe more closely the peculiarities that characterize these animals.
As soon as they arrive near the museum room, the attention is captured by some exceptional guests: wild boars, fallow deer and deer accustomed to the frequent and constant presence of man, let themselves be admired in all their splendor and in the full naturalness of their behavior.
