Lotzorai, Necropolis of Tracucu, Genna 'e Tramonti, Fund 'e Monti

The necropolis is located in an area of rugged granite reliefs and thick Mediterranean scrub, not far from the Palmaera river.
The complex consists of 25 hypogeums divided into 2 distinct groups: 9 tombs are located on the N relief of Genna 'e Tramonti; 15 on the S side of the Tracucu-Lotzorai hill. A hypogeum opens in isolation in Su Tancau-Sa Murta- Lotzorai.
The domus of the first group, that of Genna 'e Tramonti (in the territory of the municipality of Lotzorai), are excavated on vertical walls generally exposed to E. The entrances to the hypogeums open at the level of the current country plan.
The tombs of the second group, that of Tracucu, open on the granite side exposed to S-SE, at an altitude of 72.7 m above sea level.
From a planimetric point of view, most of these burials are very simple and modest in size (m 1.59 x 0.64/2.40 x 0.82 in average height): mostly single-celled, more rarely with two or three rooms, preceded by a short trapezoidal or subrectangular atrium. The two-celled ones, in number of 5 and located respectively one in Su Tancau-Sa Murta, one in Genna Tramonti and three in Tracucu, all have a planimetric development with a longitudinal projection.
The rooms are mainly circular in shape. The ceilings are almost always concave. The walls are also curvilinear and the corners are always rounded. Pilasters are represented in reliefs on the walls of some hypogeums.
The finely shaped entrance doors to the tombs sometimes have relief frames. The entrance walls are in some cases decorated with arched grooves.
Inside a hypogeum, some ceramic fragments of the Ozieri culture have been found: of particular interest is a fragment of a hemispherical bowl decorated with horizontal bands, vertical engravings and hanging festoons.
