La Maddalena, Museum of the Sea and Maritime Traditions

“The Environmental Education Center of the National Park announces that: the Geomineralogical Museum and the Museum of the Sea, are temporarily closed for energy efficiency works. The reopening will be announced through the official channels of the La Maddalena Park Authority.”

The museum, born from an idea of the local section of Italia Nostra, proposes, through a chronological journey, the reconstruction of the complete history of the Magdalenian community and the Archipelago, starting from the Neolithic to the present day. Thanks to the knowledge recovered, thanks also to the Navy and local fishermen, the following have been collected: models, photographs, documents, objects. The exhibition of this varied material testifies to, and documents, the ancient local culture linked to the sea.

Why it's important to visit it
The museum layout reconstructs, in a simple and direct way, the complete history of the Magdalenian community and the Archipelago, starting from the Neolithic period to the present day.
