The Tomb of Giants is located near Birori, at the foot of the Marghine chain, in central-northern Sardinia.
The monument, oriented along the NO/SE axis, with entrance to SE, has an apsidal rectangular body (length 15.90 m; width 4.60 m) with an internal funerary corridor. In front of the exedra (arrow 5.60 m; arc 15 m), only part of the left wing is preserved.
The outer wall of the tomb is made of large slabs fixed with a knife (10 on the NO side and 5 on the SE side), while a single block shaped with a curved line constitutes the rear apsidal end of the burial. Large flat slabs were superimposed on the sides and had to cover the entire body of the tomb, which thus took the shape of an inverted ship keel.
The burial chamber has a rectangular plan (length 13.24 m; width 1.05/1.25 m; height 2.30/2.05 m) and a trapezoidal section: the walls are made by superimposing boulders arranged on horizontal and projecting rows on the base orthostats.
A rarity, in the context of the tombs of giants, are the two pairs of niches, slightly raised from the floor, which face each other near the entrance to the burial chamber; they have a trapezoidal plan and section (width m 0.75 min. - 0.95 max.; height m 0.75-0.90; depth m 1.10) and are formed by five slabs in perfect connection. They were probably support rooms for funeral offerings, although it cannot be ruled out that they were used for separate secondary depositions.
There is no news of materials coming from the grave.

How to get there
Exit Birori and proceed on the provincial road to Borore for a few hundred meters; turn right on the old road that leads to the train station: after about 300 meters, on the left, there is the grave, located close to the road and marked by a tourist sign.
