The Carmelo Floris House Museum was the artist's home until 1960, the year of his death. It is an old manor house belonging to a noble Olzai family and later inherited by Carmelo Floris, who lived there first with his mother and then with his wife. Since 2003 it has become a museum house and houses some works by Carmelo Floris with a permanent collection consisting of 17 pictorial works, 25 engravings and about thirty sketches. The restored building maintains its original structure.
Master of engraving, renowned portraitist and landscape artist, Carmelo Floris also tried his hand at decorating ceramics, managing to create unique examples unrelated to the usual canons of island craftsmanship. At the height of his artistic maturity, he died on August 22, 1960. His remains rest in the Olzai cemetery.
