The Basilica of San Simplicio, with the church of San Paolo, is one of the two geographical poles of Olbia's identity. The Romanesque forms tell the long history of the building, which crystallized in the 12th century. On the grave of the Olbia martyrs, Simplicio and his companions, a place of worship was identified that became the cathedral of the ancient Diocese of Civita. The basement of the Basilica has returned, in addition to a temple dedicated to the cult of Ceres, many burials.
