Laconi, Nuraghe Genna Corte

The nuraghe, one of the most majestic in Sarcidano, is isolated in a rural area and is in a very poor state of conservation.
The nuraghe is complex, consisting of a pentalobed bastion that encloses the original tower and a courtyard.
The keep, with a circular plan (13 m in outer diameter), is preserved for a maximum remaining height of more than 12 meters. The external wall is made up of medium-sized trachyte blocks, arranged in horizontal rows.
Stone dimensions in the lower room, the interior shows only the line of the walls of the corridor on the upper floor, arranged transversely with respect to the spiral staircase - also obstructed - that departed from the ground floor.
Of the five towers of the bastion, obliterated for most of its planimetric development by rubble, the one facing E and part of the one facing SW are preserved.
Tower E has a circular compartment from which a long corridor with an ogival section branches off that leads into the courtyard; on the side wall there is a niche-closet raised from the floor plan. The wall curtains that connected the towers are straight and have a maximum remaining height of m 7. The courtyard is almost completely invaded by collapses.

How to get there
You follow a dirt road that starts from the extreme outskirts of Laconi (towards Meana), for about 11 km. Shortly before joining another cross road, the driveway runs along a narrow and long hill, on the slopes of which there are the warehouses of a farm. Once you take the path that leads to the company, you follow it for about 200 meters, then leave it to continue on foot to the top of the relief, on which the nuraghe is located.
