Florinas, Pedras Serradas Necropolis

The necropolis is located on the slopes of the limestone relief of Pedras Serradas. The relief dominates the valley of S'Elighe Entosu and hangs over the homonymous necropolis. On the top of the hill, which overhangs on the N side with sheer walls due to ancient landslides (hence the name of “Pedras Serradas”), there is a unique nuragic building in the shape of a half tower.
The hypogeic complex consists of five tombs carved into the limestone rock.
The hypogeans have a fairly simple planimetric development, consisting of an anticell and the main environment behind which, in some cases, a side compartment built at a later time opens.
Tomb I consists of three rooms: the antechamber and a main chamber to which a secondary cell opens.
He inserted into the antechamber a door (m 0.55 x 0.60 x 0.35) with an open frame recessed into the back wall of a small quadrangular pavilion.
The room, square (m 1.55 x 1.40 x 1.05), is characterized by the presence, on the walls, of architectural scores in relief (pilasters, plinths and friezes).
A semicircular hole, produced by the expansion of the original door, introduces a square (m 3.10 x 3.00 x 1.25) into the main room, which preserves, at angle N, a counter (m 1.75 x 0.90 x 0.30) saved in the rock.
At corner E of the cell, the entrance (m 0.80 x 0.70 x 0.40) of the side compartment is dug out. The room, with a semi-elliptical plan (1.50 x 1.40 x 0.40 m), has a dimple in the center of the floor (depth 0.15 m).
Near the entrance to the tomb, the fragment of the upper lunette of a curved stele is placed on the ground, which was perhaps originally applied to the façade of one of the burials.
Tomb II is single-celled: the environment is characterized by the presence of a niche made on the back wall and preceded by a door with a double recessed frame. The latter is also documented in Tomb V.
Burials III and IV are currently considerably buried and difficult to access.

How to get there
Leave the town of Florinas and take the SP to Cargeghe. After leaving the junction for Banari on the left and after about 2 km, you leave the car and enter the field on the left, just before a farmhouse. You go up the hill of Pedras Serradas, where the hypogeic tombs open at different levels.
