Calangianus, Source by Li Paladini

The fountain is located on the NE side of Monte di Deu, which dominates the plain between the villages of Nuchis and Calangi.
Li Paladini's small fountain, built with square granite blocks, today preserves the atrium and the cell connecting through a trapezoidal entrance (height 1.25 m; width cm 47/90).
The vestibule, oriented in N, has an irregular plan and dimensions (width 2.60 m; height 1.60 m) due to work carried out in recent years: the floor and the seat counters of the vestibule have been covered by a thick concrete cast.
The cell behind, which captures the spring vein, has a sub-square plan (length 90 cm; width 90 cm; height 1.15 m) and walls built with well-worked ashlars arranged on overhanging rows. The roof of the small room consists of two slabs arranged in a flat band.
The threshold, consisting of three plates placed side by side, has an engraved channel in the center for the flow of water.

History of studies
The source has been known since the nineteenth century.

How to get there
You pass the town of Calangianus and continue along the state road. At the junction for Nuchis, turn right up the SP 9, on a road with a natural background that crosses the railway line. Continue again for about 600 m, then turn upwards and, after 200 m, you reach a stadium (on the d.) next to which there is the Agnu nuraghe. The fountain is located at a distance of about 200 m from the nuraghe.
