The Atza Art Gallery is located in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in front of Casa Deriu, and occupies the premises of the former Municipal Library.
Inside there is a rich permanent exhibition that allows you to learn about the canvases of the painter Antonio Atza, a Bosano by adoption, and discover the various phases of his artistic career.
The exhibition, divided into various rooms, consists of works donated by the same author to the Municipality of Bosa and includes both some of the very first realistic executions and some of those “surrealist” paintings, which place him among the protagonists of post-war Sardinian art.
Important pieces of his pictorial career are the famous' Sands', painted at the end of the fifties, the 'Blues' of the early sixties and the works of clear futurist inspiration, such as the 'Self-Portrait' and the 'Vendors of Jugs'.
A space is dedicated to the works of the various artists with whom Antonio Atza had established friendly relationships: Stanis Dessy, Giovanni Thermes and Giovanni Pisano.
Why it's important to visit it
The museum allows you to get to know an artist who is counted among the masters of Sardinian art of the late twentieth century. His paintings are, to this day, researched and coveted by collectors, and Antonio Atza's paintings are present in the main museums of the island.
