The Viale della Rimembranza in Sassari is located in the area between Piazza Stazione and Corso Francesco Vico. It is part of the system of commemorative parks and avenues established in Italy following the circular issued by Undersecretary Dario Lupi on December 27, 1922, dedicated to the memory of the fallen of the First World War. The list drawn up by D. Lupi reports for Sassari the establishment of a committee by October 15, 1923, aimed at building a park or avenue of Remembrance. The archival documentation also attests to the honourable Lupi on the occasion of his visit to Sassari and the preparations for the inauguration, which took place on December 9, 1923, in conjunction with the planting of trees in the area of Piazza Stazione. The original layout involved the planting of commemorative trees, each dedicated to a fallen man from Sassari and marked with tricolor enamel plates bearing the name of the soldier, which are not present today. Currently, the bagolari are present along the avenue and in a triangular space not far away. It is characterized by a linear layout and has a double row of bagolari that defines the axis of travel and gives the space a commemorative value.

Aspects of interest
The composition of the space is linear and symmetric, organized along a main axis defined by the double row of bagolari, which marks the perspective perception of the avenue. The tree vegetation forms the structuring element of the plant, generating a regular sequence of vertical solids that accompany the path.
