The Agricultural School was conceived since its foundation as an institution equipped not only with classrooms and laboratories, but also with green and business spaces functional to practical teaching. In this framework, the garden and the green areas attached to it were designed as an integral component of the school's organization: places where students could observe, experiment and apply ornamental and productive cultivation techniques in relation to agricultural sciences. The historic garden dates back to the 1930s. It is located in a peri-urban area north of the town of Sassari. It is located on the eastern edge of the institute's boarding school and is enclosed by a fence. It is part of a larger agricultural and educational sector. The area has a mixed compositional structure, divided into two main macro-areas: a first ornamental area and a second area with a more naturalistic and wooded character, distinct but in visual and functional continuity. The ornamental macro-area consists of two green spaces: one of an ornamental type with a mixed shape and not dense with vegetation, with a predominance of palm trees in the central area and some pine trees, where a small rest area with furniture and a wall fountain are inserted; the second space is characterized by a more orderly and natural layout, defined by the presence of pseudo-rows of pine trees that recall the structure of an arboretum. In the wooded macro-area, the vegetation becomes denser and devoid of a hierarchical composition, giving the whole a spontaneous appearance. In this sector, the distribution of the trees forms a small forest, inside which there is a limited triangular space occupied by a shrub hedge arranged in a circle. The trees are sometimes positioned to constitute rows of maritime pine, palm and oak trees.

Aspects of interest
Overall, the garden has an irregular planimetric layout and a heterogeneous plant composition, defined by the presence of mixed species and by areas with different ornamental value. In several places, palm trees emerge in a suggestive way, distributed scattered throughout the area.
