The Culter International Knife Museum is unique in Italy for its exhibition offer, which offers a special itinerary: 1) a section dedicated to the International Knife, with a selection of exclusive pieces made specifically for the Museum by artisans who work in Sardinia, in the rest of Italy and in various parts of the world: Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and New Zealand; 2) a historical section that illustrates the evolution of the ancient knife, with the most representative pieces of the production of Pattada and Sardinia, together to tools and tools typical of everyday agro-pastoral life; 3) the exhibition of the handmade knives made by the Giagu family with classic models and knives new in shape and materials up to exclusive patented pieces; 4) the production laboratory, where the knives are still forged using traditional methods and using typical materials.
In the exhibition, both local pieces and those from the most remote corners of the globe, you can admire real art objects, made by contemporary artisans who, by means of technique and production, represent the best that can be found.
The success of the Culter Museum undoubtedly demonstrates that passion and technical skills, accompanied by hard craftsmanship, are rewarded and can also overcome negative economic circumstances.
Why it's important to visit it
The Culter Museum is the first permanent exhibition in Italy that offers the opportunity to follow, in a unique and original itinerary, a direct comparison between ancient and modern, between what the Potato Knife was and what it is today, also suggesting perspectives and production dynamics for the near future: new materials, techniques and processing methods.
