The State Archives collects the historical documentation of all the state offices in the province, relating to businesses that have been exhausted for more than forty years. The headquarters houses in its rooms the reception, the administrative offices, the study room, which houses a rich library, and the warehouses. The Institute preserves a documentary heritage of about fourteen thousand units, divided into funds, the most important of which are: Notary Deeds, Prefecture, Cessato Cadastre, Court, Court of Justice and Police Headquarters, in addition to private donations of documents and books.
Why is it important to visit it
It should be noted that there is a rich specialized library with publications related to Sardinian history and in particular to the archival, palaeographic and diplomatic disciplines.
