Luras, Billella Dolmen

The dolmen rises on the rocky level in the countryside to the S of the town.
It has a rectangular room (m 2 x 1.70 x 1.70) which is accessed through an entrance facing NE.
The bottom side and the side walls are formed by orthostatic plates: the side of s. is delimited by two boulders, one of which is shaped in the upper face almost like an ogive to allow it to be inserted into a concavity of the roof plate; the d. wall consists, on the other hand, of a single rectangular orthostat of large dimensions (m 2.20 x 0.60 x 1.20).
The installation surface of the side wall slabs has a significant difference in height (m 0.70), a characteristic that does not seem to be reflected, until now, in monuments of the same type.
The rounded roof plate (m 2.20 x 2.30 x 0.60) is flattened on the lower surface and left natural on the upper one.

History of studies
The monument has been known since the middle of the last century.

How to get
From Luras, take the road to the south of the monument to Padre Pio which, slightly downhill, leaves the town. You always keep the road at the two crossroads that you meet until you cover about 1.5 km: the dolmen, marked by a sign, is located further than a dry stone wall, on the road.
