The museum is located in an old stately home. It houses the collections of traditional Gavoese clothing, jewelry and amulets of the Sardinian tradition, traditional toys, musical instruments and reconstructions of traditional work environments.
There are installations, videos, images, traditional and modern tools linked to the creation of the precious forms of cheese that bears the DOP.
The museum itinerary is supported by the architectural choices that characterize the rooms, by the images of the Slovenian photographer Žiga Koritnik, by the videos taken from the documentary film Fiore Sardo produced by the City of Gavoi, by Ipotesi Cinema and shot by director Fabio Olmi and his crew.
Why it's important to visit it
The museum itinerary on the Sardinian Flower is based on creating suggestions and developing curiosities and alternative points of view on a typical product that is not only gastronomic, but characterizes a human, natural and cultural world, with an immediate communication between past and present.
