It is an architectural complex that preserves the original core of the Spanish structure intact, despite the fact that it is the result of various construction phases. The structure is spread over three levels and is introduced by an impressive brick entrance built in 1889. From here there is access to a courtyard whose trapezoidal shape accentuates the scenic effect, favored by the particular perspective perception of space and embellished by the richness of the entire house, aimed at highlighting the social role of the Devilla in the Aritza community. Representatives of the agrarian and professional bourgeoisie, the Devillas were in fact contractors in the snow industry (Lords of the Snow) from 1800 until the extinction of this activity at the beginning of the 20th century. The oldest body of the house, located to the left of the entrance, can be dated around the 17th century; a second intervention, including the right side of the structure, including the courtyard that acts as a link between the two parts, dates back to 1800.
The first nucleus reflects the canons of mountain houses in Gennargentu, both in the use of materials and in the form: of the old wooden balcony, replaced on the ground floor by the porch and upstairs by a closed corridor, the beautiful double carved wooden shelves are still preserved.
On the ground floor there is a courtyard paved with an ancient cobblestone in local stone, surrounded by a porch with open arches that runs on three sides from which there is access to rooms located at different heights. In the courtyard, the vernacular poet Bachis Sulis was shot dead by a murderous hand in 1838. The presence of Venetian drawers even in cellars for foodstuffs betrays their ancient noble origin.
