The birth of the village of Luri is part of the system of settlements created during the complete remediation of the district, started between the twenties and thirties of the twentieth century. The village was built between 1925 and 1930, near the areas created by the draining of the homonymous swamp. Its urban fabric is distinguished by a regular and rational layout, typical of urban remediation: rectangular agricultural lots and a small central nucleus intended for residential and collective functions. This context also includes the garden, initially conceived as a central functional element of the original nucleus (schools, homes, and, probably, the church to the northwest). Only after the construction of the surrounding buildings did it take the form of a real garden. The public garden of the village of Luri has a rectangular plan, divided into four flower beds that are also almost rectangular in shape but, each, with an angle cut out in the shape of a quarter of a circle, on the side facing the center. The space is organized by two paved paths, arranged orthogonally and intersected in the center of the garden. At the meeting point of the walkways, a circular area houses a seat that is also circular; all around, other quarter-circle benches define the borders of the flower beds and complete the composition of the rest area. Both seats are made of stone material. In the northwest corner there is a fountain also made of stone. The flower beds, covered with lawn, house three olive trees each, arranged in rows, which give order and continuity to the overall design of the green.

Interesting aspects
The garden is in harmony with the small size of the urban center. It takes up the regular layout of the free space around the buildings, underlining their design through the symmetry of the green spaces inside it. The irregularly shaped and symmetrical flower beds define the rectangular garden. The flower beds are covered with lawn and each has a row of three olive trees.
